2 Postdoctoral Research Fellows in Law at University of Oslo

Overview
Two posts as postdoctoral research fellow in Law are available at the Faculty of Law.
Applicants are asked to set out how their research issues relate to the department`s priorities and to the priorities of the research groups.

The fellowships are for a period of up to four years with teaching duties of 25 % of the post, alternativly for three years with 10 % teaching duties. Postdoctoral research fellows who are appointed for a period of four years are expected to acquire basic pedagogical competency in the course of their fellowship period within the duty component of 25 %.

Qualifications and Personal Skills
Applicants must hold degrees equivalent to a Norwegian master and doctoral degree in Law. Doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date.

In assessing the applications, special emphasis will be placed on the quality of the project description and on the assumed academic and personal ability on the part of the candidates to complete the project within the given time frame. Short-listed applicants may be called for an interview at the University of Oslo.

Candidates with research interests related to the faculty`s scholarly programmes will be preferred when applicants are otherwise equally well qualified.

Submissions
The main purpose of postdoctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines. Applicants must submit a project proposal (5-10 pages), including a time schedule, for the qualifying work. It is a requirement that the applicant will be able to complete the project in course of the period of appointment. No one can be appointed for more than one specified period at the same institution.

The applicant must submit:
a letter of application
project proposal, including a progress plan
CV (summarizing education, positions, pedagogical experience, administrative experience and other qualifying activity)
a complete list of publications
copies of educational certificates and diplomas. Foreign diplomas must be provided in the original language as well as in an English translation. Foreign applicants are advised to attach an explanation of their University grading system.
up to 3 scholarly publications. If the publications are written by more than one author, a declaration of authorship and of the contribution of the applicant should be submitted.
