The Division of Economics
The Division of Economics organizes and carries out education and studies in economics with a special focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, productivity and growth. The ambition is to provide a deeper understanding of the interdependencies between innovations and economic development. Special attention is paid to how R&D, innovation, and entrepreneurship may influence economic growth, to develop models and methods to examine such influences, and to provide policy-relevant characterizations of innovation and entrepreneurial processes. The research is oriented towards problems that can be approached by means of quantitative methods and that allow for collaboration with international research centres. The Division of Economics carries out research in close collaboration with CESIS (Centre of Excellence for Science and Innovation Studies).
